THIS IS AMERICA, LAND OF THE FREE, HOME OF THE BRAVE.
I have spent my adult life working. I went in the military after high school during the Vietnam War because I felt it was the right thing to do. Believe me it sucked, but I wouldn't trade my experience for the world. It informs me to this day.
After my military days, I became a police officer. I served in that capacity for 26 years. I loved it and I hated it. I don't miss it and I'm glad it's over. Enough said.
Now I teach high school history. I have found my love. Everyday I come to work I am thrilled. I love that I can be on the frontlines, once again, to influence young Americans. I believe that America is the greatest country in the history of the world. We have been a force for good and our sons and daughters are buried all over the world because we believed it and were willing to sacrifice for it. I don't believe in indoctrination and I don't believe it's my job to tell students how to think. I give them the facts and allow them to draw their own conclusion.
Having said that, I definitely have my own point of view. I am a conservative and I believe with all my heart that small government is the best government. There has been a saying circulating lately that says all that needs to be said about government. "When the people fear government there's tyranny. When the government fears the people that's liberty." It's been attributed to Thomas Jefferson and from my research he said it. Was it original? Does it matter?
The people in this video are Americans too. They weren't organized by anyone. They spoke out when they felt the need for the redress of their grievances. They felt that their representatives had forgotten them. They listened when Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer and Arlen Spector and all the rest of the elected representatives who are supposed to be serving them, called them un-Americans, and "brownshirts", and KKK members, and Timothy McVeigh followers. In short, they got it. Their government has left them and is operating on its own. They were angry. I am too.
In other words, from the Declaration of Independence, "...whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing it powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."
I took the oath to uphold the United States Constitution twice. I have never repudiated that oath and I consider it still in effect today. The people in these meetings are our brothers and our sisters. We need to support them.
God bless America.

We definitely need to support each other!
Spector is unbelievable. The message couldn't be any clearer, and he REFUSES to hear it.
THAT is what we have "representing" us.
"...whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it"
Which is why in the next Federal and Calif elections, I'm voting ALL incumbents out of office.
Arlen Spector OUT, the guy in the red shirt IN...
Brooke,
I agree. We are beginning to see people being vocal at these meetings and it's about time. Thanks for the visit.
KM,
Good to hear from you. Thanks for the visit. I'm not too fond of any incumbent regardless of party. I'm with you in your anger and desire to take action.
I wonder how many Americans right now are wary of contacting their elected public servants -- particularly after that White House snitch program at whitehouse.gov?
Anyway, the crowd's reaction in the posted video here is indicative of the widening gulf between the people and their elected public servants. People just aren't buying BHO's talking points, which are being used by Congressmen and Senators during the August recess.
AOW,
The gap is widening daily. Americans are finally waking up and seeing that government is taking more and more money from its citizens, spending it wildly, and encroaching on our rights in an unprecendented way. It's could get ugly.
God bless you.
Spector, what an asshole! But at least he didn't load up the townhalls with "plants" like our rookie out of his league Prez!
This guy(Obummer) is looking more and more like the Wizard of Oz...come out from behind the curtin Barry and show your real self.
PCC,
Back at you and thanks for the visit.
Pat,
This guy is a real piece of work. I find it incredible that he lie on video, deny it when confronted and get away with it. Magic? No, a worshipping press.
I agree. These people aren't haters and they're not organized by the Republicans. I am with them in spirit, if not always in tone.
What I find amazing is that these people are being branded racists for opposing a black president's health care plan. Why do you suppose all these "angry white people" were against Bill Clinton's far less ambitious health care plan in 1993-94? It can't possibly be revulsion toward state-run health care, but hatred toward our two black presidents!
Carl,
You are the man. You get it. What the hell is it when people that actually speak out against government are villified as racists, etc...the same old charges.
The Declaration actually demands it. We the People, will not tolerate the dimunition of our rights. They awakened a sleeping giant.
I am empowered. Thanks for the visit. You are a powerful voice please speak up.
