McCAIN'S NEW AD

Thanks to Dr.D at American Power (blogroll)for posting this first.

As anyone who has read this blog knows John McCain is a big hero of mine. As a fellow Vietnam Veteran I am excited about the prospect of having a brother in the White House. While I share in some small way his service, I am in no way equating my service with his. A comparison of McCain with his Dem challengers is unfair on its face. He is a hero who sacrificed an unbelievable amount for his country.

That is not to say that people who have not been in the military are not on an equal footing with those who have. The point I want to make is that McCain understands, as no other candidate, what it means to be ready to defend America. In Dr.D's blog he posted several who looked upon this commercial as a repudiation of Obama's patriotism. On the contrary, the commercial was verification of McCain's sacrifice for his country and his qualifications for this job. I don't want a president to learn on the job in this extremely trying time.

The debate rages between the Dems about who is ready on "Day One." McCain is the only one who can lay claim to being ready on "Day One." As the commercial says he has felt the fire and he is ready to lead us.

It's a good ad, and it starts the campaign on a positive note by not even mentioning the Dems.

I read half of the autobiography on the plane. Haven't finished it yet, but I'm close.

Rightwingprof,
Thanks for the visit. I love the fact that the Obama apologists are saying that McCain is dissing his patriotism. It appears McCain is only showcasing his strengths. And they are many. BTW, thanks for the Wagner links. I listened to and loved them all. Welcome back. I saw your post about the food. It is sorry the state of German-American culture in America today, isn't it?

Screw the dems. There is nothing in that ad, even if you read between the lines, about Obama or Clinton. They're nuts if they think otherwise,(of course we know there nuts anyway)!

When we finally get a winner on the dem side, politics will get dirtier, but, I doubt McCain will get into the fray himself. I do know even if he does, he won't be the one to start it. There are others in the republican party who are great at it!

Obama STILL hasn't been vetted by the media yet. When are they going to ask him the tough questions?

AA,
Thanks for the visit. I agree that cheap shots aren't McCain's MO. There are, however, some who will I think take on the tough shots. That's the way it's done I guess.

McCain is far superior in being ready from Day One. Obama may be charming, but to say he is ready and equal to the profound intelligence of Lincoln is comical

I wanted to mention I teach History as well. My resume is paper thin compared to yours. Thanks for being in the profession

obob,
Thanks for the visit. I went to your site and I was impressed with the fact that you appear to be as demented as I am. Well done.

I too remember Vietnam and what happened to this man. The indoctrination and propaganda administered to McCain cannot be imagined by the general population. I salute him for that. It being said, I do not support his no drilling or exploring for oil, this is beyond the pale. We are robbing Peter to pay pay, in order to pay our heating bills. His Carbon taxes will eat us up along with the rising price of everything else. He is beyond knowing what it takes to run a household monitarily, as with the rest of the millionairs running for the Presidency. He will ignore the illegals currently sapping our country's economic resources. He will be steadfast on a strong defense and the military establshment and he will submit conservative judges for the Supreme Court. His take on Torture concerns me, because he has been there and saw that the Geneva Convention was not adhered too by the enemy. I was encouraged by his yes vote on the CIA.,,,So weighing these things, I will vote for him and hopefully the will of the people will prevail and convince him to reconsider on some of the other issues for which he has voiced his opposition....I ramble....stay well.....

Tap,
Thanks for the visit.
I agree with you on a number of fronts. As I have said drilling in ANWAR makes sense until we get a grip on our energy problem. I hope his pronouncement that he heard us on immigration is true. He said he now favors securing the borders first. As a teacher I feel the pain (sorry) of illegals as much as anybody. Hopefully, he did listen. Overall, on the main issues I agree with him. Judges without a doubt are extremely important and it appears he will be able to appoint a large number of lower court judges and at least a couple of SC judges. He will do that well I suspect. National security is his strong suit and I think he's on firm ground there. Thanks again.

L&O Teach, I do not want to leave the impression to anyone, that I dislike immigrants. That is furtherist from my mind when I want to secure our borders and send back the people who are here illegally. Many times in the past we have granted amnesty to people who came here illegally. these times have passed, we are being sapped dry for allowing this process to continue mainly unabated. Government has just recently started to enforce laws that have long been on the books. States are beginning to realize the cost in services being expended on illegals. Recently, President Bush passed a law cutting Medicaid benefits. These are services being used to service the least of us and those illegals are using it. I do begrudge them receiving services met to subsidize low income Americans and by doing so cause the whole program to be underfunded....stay well....
