VETERANS DAY, SECURITY POLICE

I am still in Veterans Day follow up. As I was at my friend's site "Social Sense" I was moved by his posts about the USMC. They are a glorious service and I am in awe.

Having said that, all the armed forces are glorious in their own right. I spent my time in the military in the Security Police. While that sounds like a purely civilian pursuit, it really was a military fighting unit. My brothers fought to retain their bases with their lives and some made the ultimate sacrifice. In Vietnam, that meant protecting your base against all type of attacks. We did our job and when it was all said and done, we never lost a base.

When you are in the military you are committed to your country. There is no higher calling. I was proud to serve my country, and I would do it again if I could.

To my friends like Pat, we were noble, we fought for our country, and we triumphed against all odds. We are proud, we are the Security Police.

Excellent, Lot … and thank you for your kind mention. Veterans’ Day is about Americans standing up, answering the call of service to their nation. It is about taking one-step forward, when everyone else in America takes one-step back. It doesn’t make any difference what branch of the service one joins: they are all about protecting the Constitution, and the American people, from all enemies —whether foreign, or domestic. So the let me say, from one veteran to another, Semper Fidelis …

God bless you for your service, LOT. You answered your country's calling. And, as Brooke points out, in the civilian venue as well. PLUS now helping kids!

Thanks to all. I am overwhelmed with caring for my wife and school. I'll be better about posting soon. Sorry.
