I think a lot of Americans have been waiting for the president to come to the defense of his country. While on part two of his apology tour he has sat idly by as America haters of all stripes insult the country. I've been waiting for him to finally say "Enough!" Surely he won't listen to Chavez, a totalitarian if there ever was one, insult America. After exchanging a fraternity handshake with him, he accepts a book that is nothing more than an anti-American screed with a smile and a handshake.
Obama said he thought it was one of Chavez's books and replied that he was going to give him one of his. Sheesh. Next he sits as Daniel Ortega, that well-known protector of human rights, launchs on a verbal attack of fifty minutes duration, basically immobile. Why didn't he walk out? Why didn't he say that he didn't come to the summit to have America be insulted and leave? When will he stand up for his country? I guess he was afraid he'd make Chavez and Ortega not like him or maybe they would hold it against America. Maybe he just missed his teleprompter.
Get the details in this transcript of a panel discussion on Fox News. Charles Krauthammer nails it. When will Obama finally learn it isn't all about him? "At least he didn't blame me for something that happened when I was three months old." We've heard that one before. Obama needs to dial down the ego and turn on the responsibility reset button.
When will Obama "man up?"

L&OTeach, It's not over till the fat lady sings......She's up next. I see where the youth of America will soon have new youth corp.....stay well....
The problem is essentially this: the adults have fled the White House and now it's just the kids at the side table.
BTW, REALLY like your new blog format!
BZ
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER, SYNDICATED COLUMNIST: I'm not sure how much damage the book will do. It is probably unreadable. But it does show how a president's actions, it shows how they have effects.
---------------------------------
I doubt the Krautzenjammer kid does much reading but maybe he's caught Galeano's column in The Progressive. He's a respected writer.
Always liked his quote about the Chilean coup:
"People were in prison so that prices could be free."
Tap,
Thanks for the visit. I look forward to the formation of a new youth corps. Wonder what their mission will be?
BZ,
Thanks for the visit. Your point is well taken. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't the whole country at stake.
Ducky,
Thanks for the visit. I can't speak for as to whether Charles reads or not. As for Chile, it certainly was a tough situation, although it is notable that the Allende administration's economic policies jacked inflation up to about 140%. That sure didn't help his situation and made his government ripe for a coup.
I heard Romney say how horrid it was fpr "all about Obama" to say "I was only 3 months old"....when he should have said "This is a great country and we've done much for the world"
ya, THAT'll be the day, huh? So sad. Imagine having a president who makes us feel like he's not real hot on this country?
L&0, you have to go to my HOOKER BAR post again and see a very funny comment to you! From me! (well, actually, from MY MOTHER!) I'm still giggling!
I even had a student the other day (in class) that commented "Freaking kids are running the White House now." The student got extra points (which he doesn't even know about yet), for original thinking.
You know, all these other countries that love that jerk so much are welcome to him! We are done playing with that toy, so maybe it's time to find a new home. Maybe the king of Saudi Arabia would like a bowing NObama to go with the bobble-head NObama I am sure he must already have.
I doubt the Krautzenjammer kid does much reading ...
Dr. Krauthammer, one of the most educated political commentators in the country, doesn't do much reading?
Oh right ... Ducky said that. LOL.
Obama is a light-weight...albeit is a very dangerous one. He is the Manchurian Canidate.
Z,
Thanks I'll check.
TT,
Remember Art Linkletter? "Kids Say the Darndest Things." Take care.
AA,
I sure hope his pansy activities don't cost us dearly.
Mustang,
I would have to say that you may have as much fun as I do puncturing Ducky's pomposity.
Pat,
Manchurian Candidate. Yep, that about covers it.
From your new friend, my MOM: (in response to your comment to her on the HOOKER BAR post!)
So I am a lady of great intellect and good humor? How about that. that made my evening. Thanks, Z.
MOM
Thanks very much, L&0!!
I've always thought that people of great intellect needed to have better humor. I use humor with my kids everyday in class. Of the two, humor is the better teacher.
Hard to believe he's screwed so much up in so short a time.
Darren,
Sorry, I haven't checked this post for a while. You're right. What a mess.
