FIGHTING A WAR

In every war, the soldiers are the ones who feel the pain. The politicians start the wars, the soldiers fight them. Before you hate the soldiers, remember that they follow the orders of their commanders. It is easy to blame them, but it is right to remember that soldiers answer the call of their country and fight as hard as they can. Whether in victory or defeat, they return home and get on with their lives. Honor them. They sacrificed for us.

I had forgotten that piece from the series. We should honor all TRUE soliders after the fighting is done. That is one thing the libs do not understand. I suppose they never will. Thanks for helping me to remember this clip.

We owe them everything. I remember being on a plane about a year ago and the flight attendant asked us to give a round of applause to several military personnel on board. They all looked like they were teenagers. The thunderous applause and whoops were awesome! Everybody, yours truly included, was in tears.

Far too many forget, others just don't care.

As far as looking like teenagers, most of us were in our war, when we joined up or were drafted.

TT,
Thanks for the visit. Always honor the troops. Protest the war if you must, but honor the troops.

PCC,
Thanks for the visit. That is incredible. I think Pat and I would have loved that treatment. I'm glad it's happening now.

Pat,
Thanks for the visit. I showed my students a picture of me at 18 in uniform. They were stunned that I was ever young. Hope all is well.

Many in this country have begun to thank the veterans for their service and that is not only in the current conflicts but for their service in general. I have been thanked for my service in Vietnam when I have talked about certain incidents happened when I was over there. You could have knocked me over with a feather, but It's happening. People are still meeting the planes returning from Iraq locally. I remember when they were made to wait on the planes in Oakland California. the airport managers should have been fired. Anyway it made headlines....For the better one hopes....stay well...

Tap,
Thanks for the visit. I will never forget being told not to wear my uniform as I returned home. Shocking. Thankfully it's all changed.
