BTW

I wanted to give a shout out to my soccer team. We played one of the top teams in our area. Everyone, and I mean everyone, thought we would be annihiliated. We lost 4-1. I can live with that because we fought to the very end and played as hard as we were capable. We are fighting low numbers and now injuries. Our team played their hearts out and I told them how proud of them I was. We played a great game and really we ran out of gas because we didn't have subs. We are going to be better because I had five freshman playing in the game at the start and they played the majority of the game. I am thrilled and excited about the rest of the season.

PALIN IS THE MAN!

Here she is! She is all you would want in a candidate. Tough, unintimidated, and on her own road. Well done.

McCAIN WINS THE ELECTION

McCain has hit a home run with Sarah Palin. Here's his speech. I'll put Sarah's speech up next. Well done, John McCain.

I wish I could say I disagree.

ENJOY THIS INSPIRING VIDEO. GO KYLE!

My ex-partner sent this to me and I was stunned and moved by the story. I've watched several times and enjoyed it each time. There are miracles in this world, and sometimes, just sometimes, good things happen to good people. I look forward to seeing Kyle on the PGA Tour someday. Just thought I would brighten up your day.

YOU'RE GONNA MISS THIS

I love country music. I've listened to it all my life. The message of this song is something I tell the kids on my soccer team everyday. Don't let this time escape from you. You can't get it back, so enjoy it while it's here. The younger kids never get it, while the seniors always nod in agreement. I wish they would listen, but, then again, neither did I.

DON McLEAN

Has there ever been a more mysterious singer than Don McLean? We never understood a lot of the lyrics of his songs, but we loved the melodies nonetheless.

AND THEN...

The grandaddy of them all. A great, great song.

MOODY BLUES LIVE

If you are a fan of the Moody Blues this is as good as it gets. Their musical talent is incredible. Backed by the orchestra, they are tremendous musicians and one of my favorite songs is so good to listen to. Best line of the song, "To throw it away, to lose just a day." I try to keep that in mind everyday.

MOODY BLUES

Moody Blues was a band that my friends and I loved. We loved their different sound and the lyrics of their songs challenged us to figure out what they were singing about. My wife and I saw them live in Vegas in 1984 and and enjoyed them greatly. Again, a great band holds up live. They sang this song while the theater was dark. It was really a thrill to listen as they said, "We know you're out there somewhere." We were in the National Police Softball Tournament and we caught as many shows as possible. It was a great time.

A good band holds up when they play live. This is a good band and their live performance is real and good, just like their records. Excellent stuff.

FOR DR. D.-GREAT SONG

Enjoy!

DIAMOND GIRL

SEALS AND CROFTS

When I came home from overseas I was very proud of the stereo I had bought. It was state of the art. I could play LPs, 45s, and I had a tape deck on which I recorded reel-to-reel tapes. When I got home I set it up in my parents home. I played some music to let them hear the bass and full, rich sound for themselves. My dad thought the bass was really cool. The first songs I had on the stereo were from Seals and Crofts. Diamond Girl started it off and I remember my family oohing and aahing over the bass sound. Being a worldly veteran headed for Denver after my leave, I was more than happy to put on a show for them and my friends who came over to see me. They wanted to know what a war was like and I told them and we drank some beer, 18 being the drinking age in those days. My dad was so happy to usher in all my friends and he was the best host possible. He was happy his son was home and he delighted in seeing my friends from HS. A good time was had by all.

A good memory of my dad.

BEHOLD! BARACK!

This a stroke of pure genius. It is McCain's new ad. It's about time people are confronted with the arrogance and entitlement of BO. I am amazed that so many people buy into his deal. "We are the change we have been waiting for" "the oceans will recede and the earth will heal itself." Wow, that's really good.

He perfectly appeals to the inflated sense of entitlement of the 60s and later generations. We will change the world. We will make it better. The "Greatest Generation" didn't talk about this stuff they did it. When they came back, they went on with their lives and really did make the world a better place. We are the beneficiaries of their selfless devotion to their country. The world is a better place because of them. As they pass from the scene, we should remember what it really means to change the world. They did. BO and his acolytes don't get it. Selfless devotion isn't in their thought process. Give me what's mine, I'm entitled.

He is the perfect candidate for them. Listen to some of the speeches of FDR, Truman, JFK, and Reagan. Those are great presidents. BO is a pale imitation at best. BO bails at the slightest hint of controversy. That is why he has no resume. HE STANDS FOR NOTHING!

LISTEN TO THIS

This is the sound that I fell in love with as a kid. I loved both Cetera and Lamm. They were both great to listen to, but the original sound was the one I loved as a kid.

CHICAGO EVOLUTION

It's interesting to watch and listen to a group like Chicago evolve. They went from their hard sound with lots of brass to this sound. As the 70s turned into the 80s the sound got decidedly softer and more romantic. Peter Cetera began to record solo and got some hits, (I posted them earlier), the band changed. The romantic side is great, but I like the hard sound too. I'll give you a comparison.
